Michael graduated from Cranfield University with an MSc in design engineering in 1979 and with an MBA in 1983. Following his MSc, he began his career in the Aerospace Industry with Rolls-Royce Ltd, working with aero engines for the military market. After his MBA, he held various positions in several companies until 1998, when he joined Alenia Marconi Defence Systems just at the start of the joint venture with Finmeccanica. He held several positions in AMS and then, following the full acquisition by Finmeccanica, in SELEX Sistemi Integration Ltd, the Systems Integration arm of Finmeccanica in the UK. Michael currently holds the post of CEO for SELEX Systems Integration Ltd and its subsidiaries, including VEGA Consulting Services Ltd, following the merger and renaming of SELEX Sistemi Integrati Ltd and VEGA Group PLC in January 2009.
