 Hugh Sumner

Director of Transport, Olympic
Delivery Authority

Having lead all transport planning through-out London’s bid for the 2012 Games, as well during the interim period post win and prior to the formal creation of the Olympic Delivery Authority in Spring 2006, Hugh was confirmed as the ODA’s Director of Transport in May 2006. He and his team are accountable for delivering the transportation to meet the needs of all Olympic and Paralympic client groups during the 60 days of the Games. This will include 55,000 athletes, officials, media and sponsors, nearly 10m spectators and the management of existing London demand.

Transportation will be key to enabling London to host an outstanding 2012 Games and the ODA will ensure the delivery of the necessary infrastructure and services by working with and through transport delivery partners across the industry.
